By now we can all agree drones are going to be the next big thing. The market is becoming amazingly competitive with new and better drones being released constantly. We are flying our path into the big “drone boom”. The same way Bill Gates predicted a computer in every family home, I too predict one day there will be a drone in every family home.

5- Pioneer JXD 509G
Source : youtube.com / Channel : hobby lee
Pioneer has recently released a powerful series of quadcopters, the JXD 509. We have already reviewed the amazing JXD 509V (you can find it here Drones for sale). Now we are reviewing its newly released FPV brother the JXD 509G with a longer control distance, more flight time ( 10 drones with good flight time ) and FPV (real time video transmission)! What do they have in common? They are great quadcopters for beginners. Not only have they come in a complete package, with all you need, ready to fly out of the box. They also bring amazing features which are a great addition to the very stable and easy to manoeuvre quadcopter that 509G is. Money-wise you won’t find another drone with this features and specifications that is this easy to fly.

JXD 509G has excellent control, accurately performing according to pilot’s input, able to resist average wind force. It has a good control distance of 150 meters. It is well built, a strong ABS Plastic, it will resist most common crashes. It is very stable, even the most of beginners will have an easy time keeping it balanced in the air. Well, speaking about balance, JXD 509 series (including the 509G) come with Altitude Holder. The pilot will be able to set the drone to steadily hover in the same place in air. Allowing the pilot to focus on the video. It is amazing how such an affordable drone brings this feature and it works very well! But it doesn’t stop here, 509G also has other features such as Headless Mode, Automatic Landing and One Key Return (check our Ultimate Buying Guide to find out what are these features).
Camera quality is 2MP 720p resolution, the camera can be adjusted to different angles manually. Live transmission is done with no delay directly to your FPV screen, it does have some jello effect occasionally, not the best camera out there in the market. But considering the drone’s price and all its features. It is a bargain! It uses a 3.7V 600mAh Li-Po battery, powering up to 10 minutes of flight time (varies depending on camera usage).
4- JJRC H16 Yizhan Tarantula X6
Tarantula X6 is one of my personal favourites, many people claim it is the best drone for beginners. In fact, it was one of the second quadcopter I bought. And I regret NOTHING!

Tarantula X6 is one of the best and most easy to fly quadcopters you will currently find in the market. I strongly advise this computer to any beginner. It is a large quadcopter, with a very unique design, resembling as you should expect a spider. It performs amazingly well, having no trouble fighting the wind and staying stable in air. It is a very powerful quadcopter at a very affordable price. It has three different package versions: one with no camera, another with a 5MP camera and other with an 8MP camera (not sure if this version is available anymore).
Tarantula X6 as an outstanding control distance of 300 meters! Yes, you read it well, this drone can fly as far as 300 meters. And if you are afraid to lose it, don’t worry, it has One Key Return feature, thanks to its IOC (Intelligent Orientation Control) which works much like an inner compass. Allowing the drone to record its location and comeback to it with a simple trick explained in our Ultimate Buying Guide). X6 is a large drone, with enough lifting power to carry common cameras, it has a flight time of 8 to 10 minutes depending on how much height you carrying (if any). Its built material is strong, a good ABS Plastic that won’t brake easily, although it’s landing set may bend or snap in harder landings. Be gentle when landing. Tarantula X6 is another great and successful product from JJRC, if you want a large quadcopter this is it!
3- Mould King 33043 Super-F
Source : dronearena.com
If you are on a very short budget but eager to start learning how to fly a quadcopter, Super-F is your best fit. There is no easier and cheaper micro drone for learning purposes than the Super-F. It’s a very basic and light quadcopter, even the remote is very simplistic.

Very stable quadcopter, flies steady even against some wind. Propellers and motors are nicely safe surrounded by a protective frame. Don’t worry about having those first beginner crashes. They won’t be a problem. Also, it does have some nice features, such as Headless Mode and One Key Return (all for just 20$ how good is that?!). Control distance is around 100 meters, very good, outperforming the wrongly but commonly bought Syma X5C1. Flight time is a good 8 minutes powered by a 3.7V 300mA Lipo Battery that only takes 40 minutes to charge!
If interested on a version of this quadcopter with a 2MP camera, well there is one! It’s called the Mould King 33043 Super-S.
NOTE: Beware that the Headless Mode and One Key Return buttons are reversed from what displayed on the instructions manual.
2- Moontop M9916

Moontop M9916 is another micro sized quadcopter, some may argue it is a cheaper clone version of the Syma X11. Clone or not, it is a great quadcopter for learning. Very cheap, durable, great for both indoor and outdoor flight. It has a great protective case around its propellers and wind, able to resist almost any crash. There are three versions of it: one with no camera, other with a built-in 0.3MP camera and other with a built-in 2MP camera. On this list I’m referring to the non-camera version, mainly because the camera versions are not so easy to fly, they are not as stable and wiggle a bit due to the camera weight. Control distance is around 80 meters and flight time around 6 to 8 minutes. It only takes 30 minutes to charge. M9916 has no features besides the usual 360ยบ stunt, it is a cheap micro drone, perfect for our list of drones for beginners.
1- RC126

If you are into hexacopters, RC126 will be your baby. Flies amazingly well both indoor and outdoor. A very stable flier, hovers steadily, it will be surprisingly easy for any beginner to control it. It has 6 motors instead of 4, giving it that extra lifting power and stability. It uses a triblade instead of 2. As you can tell it’s much different from the quadcopters we have grown to get used to. It is very light, very gentle flyer, definitely meant for beginners to learn. It does have some nice features such as the Headless Mode and One Key Return! Control distance is of 100 meters. Flight time between 6 to 8 minutes. Due to only weighting 142gr it is exempt from FAA registration. There is no camera version, but since it uses 6 motors giving it a good lifting power, you can attach a common lightweight camera to it. This could be the best drone for beginners!

The common misconception about this hobby is that it is insanely expensive. While yes there are a lot of expensive models, you don't have to wreck your savings just to immerse yourself into the hobby. I found a great article that can give you a brief intro should you really want to own one that works great and is easy on the pocket: http://mydronelab.com/best-pick/cheap-drones-with-camera.html
